The team is interested in new data management and artificial intelligence approaches, both theoretical and applied, to support the development of intelligent and scalable data-centered systems.
Our currrent research focus includes:
- New paradigms in data management. We are interested in the development of formal data management approaches (data models, data provenance, optimization, ontologies) to guide AI models and tools.
- AI for data management. We study the use of AI approaches such as generative AI, multi-armed bandits, and reinforcement learning to solve classic data management problems such as recommendation, optimization.
- Human-centred applications. We also focus on interdisciplinary areas such as recommendations in education (personalized quizes and lessons) and e-health.
